avec-coeur-et-lame:

Reminder: it’s okay to acknowledge that you are having a bad mental health day. It’s okay to be gentle with yourself when you need to. Recovery is not an immediate change, but a long journey, and it’s okay when you can’t be as okay as you want to be.

This reminds me: I skipped class because of a bad mental health day for the first time last Friday. The entire time I was worried the professor would think I was a bad student, that he would think I skipped because I didn’t do my homework (which I had already emailed to him to show him I did do it)… turns out he was very understanding. So for you students following me, it really isn’t going to be as bad as your brain might tell you. It’s okay to take a day off just for you.

There’s been multiple times where my teacher has straight up refused to let me take tests because he didn’t think I was in the right mental place to do so. He is well aware that I have depression and anxiety and will tell me “I think we should hold off on this test for a day or two, focus on yourself right now.” I’m not saying all teachers are like this, but if you open up a little to them, you might find that things are no where as scary as they may seem.
